Corpus Christi writers will be meeting in costume at 11 pm on Halloween night. After a countdown to the stroke of midnight, they will begin writing furiously to complete 50,000 words of a novel in only 30 days! It's the annual kick off a creative writing marathon known as NaNoWriMo or "National Novel Writing Month". The adventure will be shared with thousands from all around the globe making it one of the worlds largest creative writing communities.
NaNoWriMo is a non-profit organization. Admission is free to all who have ever dreamed of writing a novel some day and there are no cash prizes.
On Nov 7th NaNoWriMo will also have a sponsored writing marathon. Proceeds will be donated to the Corpus Christi Literacy Counsil.
There will be write ins through out the month as well as a TGIO (Thank God It's Over) party in the first week of December.
