5th Annual Harbor Half Kids' Marathon

Corpus Christi, TX - H-E-Buddy joined students at Gibson Elementary on Friday, September 11th to kick-off this year's H-E-B Harbor Half Kids' Marathon.

On race day, kids ages 4 to 13 will run a 1.2 mile route. In addition, prior to the event, students have the option to enter the Kids' Marathon program which challenges them to run, walk or jump rope 25 miles on their own or at school during the months leading up to race day. All who complete the program and the final 1.2 miles at the event will receive a finisher's medal for completing the full marathon.

"Our students enjoy a challenge. Giving them the opportunity to participate in a fitness program works their bodies and minds," says Anna Fuentes, Gibson Elementary principal.

The event, sponsored by H-E-B and supported by local schools, will be focused on challenging kids to participate in a program that is fun while promoting fitness and proper nutrition as part of a healthy lifestyle. H-E-B will also provide t-shirts, festivities, snacks and goodie bags to race-day participants.
