The Harbor Ferry ReturnsWeekend water taxi service to restart Saturday, October 3CORPUS CHRISTI - The Harbor Ferry will begin service from the Peoples Street T-Head, along the Corpus Christi Bayfront to the Texas State Aquarium and the Solomon P. Ortiz Center docks starting Saturday, October 3, 2009. Operated by Ocean Place Charters Inc., the Harbor Ferry will provide water taxi service from its base at the Peoples Street T-Head most weekends beginning at 12:00 p.m. (noon) until sundown. Sunset cruises are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Inpidual group charters are available at any time by appointment. This is a very unique mode of water-borne transportation that provides access to Corpus Christi Beach attractions and the Heritage Park and Bayfront Arts and Sciences Park, where visitors and residents can find the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, the Art Museum of South Texas, Whataburger Field and more. On Sundays, this will be especially convenient since there is no public transportation available. " Departs Peoples Street T-Head at 12:00, 1:30, 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. " Departs Texas State Aquarium Dock at 12:30, 2:00, 3:30 and 5:00 p.m. " Departs Solomon P. Ortiz Center Dock at 12:45, 2:15, 3:45 and 5:15 p.m. This weekend service is not associated with the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA). A full service snack bar including beer, wine and margaritas also is available on board. Amenities aboard the Harbor Ferry include ADA compliant boarding and restroom facilities. The Harbor Ferry is also available for private charter.
