March 2005 Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Announces Candidates for Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration
The Search Committee for the position of Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi has announced the names of four candidates who will be brought to campus for interviews.
The candidates are listed in alphabetical order followed by the dates of their campus visits:
Mr. Edward M. DesPlas, Executive VP, El Centro College, Dallas, TX, April 10-12
Ms. Kathryn Funk-Baxter, Interim VP for Finance, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi, TX, April 13-15
Mr. Robert L. Lovitt, Senior VP for Business Affairs, The University of Texas at Dallas, Dallas, TX, March 30-April 1
Mr. James R. Sutherland, VP for Administration & Finance, Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA, April 6-8
Members of the search committee are: Dr. Sandra S. Harper, chair, provost/vice president for Academic Affairs; Dr. Moustafa Abdelsamad, dean, College of Business; Beatrice Blomquist, budget manager; Dr. Eliot Chenaux, vice president for Student Affairs; Dr. Linda Cook, associate professor, College of Science and Technology; Dr. Swint Friday, associate professor, College of Business; Ed Gorecki, student representative; Dr. Dee Hopkins, dean, College of Education; Grace Huang, assistant accounting director; Dr. Paul E. Orser, interim vice president for Administration; Jorge Ramirez, assistant vice president, Marketing and Communications; Chris Shupala, director, Mary and Jeff Bell Library; Ron Smith, director, Physical Plant; Ben Soto, manager, Microcomputer Services; and Linda Sousse, student representative.
The search committee screened more than 80 applications to arrive at the pool of finalists. President Flavius C. Killebrew hopes to fill the position by June 1, 2005.
