Corpus Christi March 2005
Event tomorrow at Johnny Carinos
(CORPUS CHRISTI, TX) As the inaugural season of Hooks baseball in Corpus Christi rapidly approaches, the club will launch what is sure to be one of its most popular promotions during a special event at Johnny Carinos Country Italian restaurant on Wednesday, March 30th. Rusty, the Hooks official mascot, will be there between 5:00 and 7:00 pm to help kick off the Baseball Buddies program for the 2005 season.
The Baseball Buddies, which will be presented during the season by Johnny Carinos, is a program that gives area youth league baseball and softball teams the chance to be on the playing surface at Whataburger Field along with the Hooks during the performance of the National Anthem. The chance to be introduced along with Hooks players and take the field just minutes before a game in front of a large crowd is a huge thrill for many children and is a widely popular promotion throughout minor league baseball. The Hooks and Johnny Carinos will partner to make this happen for youth league teams throughout the greater Corpus Christi area.
Johnny Carinos Country Italian restaurant is located at 1652 South Padre Island Drive, at the corner of Greenwood Drive in the Southside Plaza. Again, Wednesdays event will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Area youth teams that would like to participate in the Baseball Buddies program may register for that opportunity during tomorrows event at Johnny Carinos. The restaurant will also be accepting registrations for Baseball Buddies with the Hooks throughout the 2005 season.
