CEREMONY WILL DEDICATE MAJOR BOND ISSUE 2000 STREET PROJECT
Corpus Christi Mayor Loyd Neal will join City Manager George K. Skip Noe, other officials and local residents for the dedication of the newly completed Up River Road Improvement Project. The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Tom Graham Park, located at the intersection of Up River Road and Oak Park Avenue.
This is one of the major projects that was part of the Bond Issue 2000 street improvements package approved by voters back in November of 2000. The project was begun in October of 2002 and was completed on March 25, 2005. The project involved the complete removal of an existing roadway and the total street reconstruction and overlay of more than one mile of roadway. The project also included major utility work including the installation of additional storm water drainage, ADA improvements, the replacement of an existing water line, the replacement and rehabilitation of wastewater lines and the adjustment and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer manholes.
The total cost of the Up River Road Improvement Project was $2.7 million.
