Pick of the Week - California Sweet White Corn

HEB Corpus Christi Texas - Nothing says summer like fresh corn-on-the-cob! For a sweet treat, try California white corn. It's one of the sweetest varieties available and tastes great grilled or boiled.

Tips for selecting:

Look for corn with plump kernels that are milky white and extend up to the ear's tip.



Tips for storing:


For best flavor, use fresh corn as soon as possible. If storing, refrigerate unhusked in a plastic bag for two to three days.


Nutritional Benefits:

Not only is corn-on-the-cob fun to eat, it's good for you too! Just don't go overboard on the butter and salt. One medium ear of corn is cholesterol free, low in fat and sodium, and a good source of vitamin C and fiber.
