CITY MANAGER RECEIVES AWARD FROM NATIONAL MANAGEMENT GROUP FOR 30 YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE
The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) recently honored City Manager George K. Noe for 30 years of service to local government. Noe received the honor during the 90th annual ICMA conference in San Diego, California. In a letter from ICMA, Executive Director Bob ONeill wrote, the many years that you have dedicated to public service are a remarkable feat of perseverance and unwavering dedication to the citizens of the communities that you have served.
Noe was appointed City Manager of Corpus Christi in April 2003. Prior to that, he served as Acting City Manager (February 2003-April 2003) and Deputy City Manager (October 1999-February 2003). Noe has also served as City Manager in College Station, Texas and Kingsville, Texas; Deputy City Manager in Fort Collins, Colorado; and he has held numerous management positions in the City of San Antonio, Texas.
Noe graduated with honors from St. Marys University, where he studied English and Political Science. He was a Labor Relations Fellow in Alameda County, California for the Labor-Management Relations Service in Washington, D.C.
In addition to his role as City Manager, Noe currently serves on the Board of Directors of the newly formed local advocacy group known as Citizens for Educational Excellence. He also serves on the Board of Governors for the United Way of the Coastal Bend.
