CPL RETAIL ENERGY CONTRIBUTES ENERGY EQUIPMENT
TO FAMILY OUTREACH CORPUS CHRISTI, INC.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (March 22, 2005) - CPL Retail Energy, L.P. announced today that it has contributed $2,000 to Family Outreach Corpus Christi, Inc. for the purchase of a refrigerator, freezer and two microwaves. This donation, part of the companys ongoing community outreach, will be used to further assist Family Outreachs efforts to serve and support Corpus Christi families.
We are committed to supporting the communities we serve by providing organizations with the resources they need to continue serving critical community needs, said Phil Tonge, president of CPL Retail Energy. Our philanthropic efforts are focused on assisting non-profit organizations to acquire new energy equipment.
Established in Summer 2003, the Quarterly Energy Equipment Donation program provides non-profit organizations with the opportunity to submit their energy equipment needs to CPL Retail Energy for consideration. In 2004, CPL Retail Energy, WTU Retail Energy and Direct Energy contributed more than $1 million to the communities it serves throughout Texas.
Family Outreach has been serving families in Corpus Christi for over 22 years and provides free services by trained volunteers to families with child related problems to strengthen the family unit and prevent child abuse. Family Outreach serves approximately 100 meals per week to parents and children attending support groups and parenting education classes.
